Nick Wernicke

About:

Nick is an electrical systems architect and electronics designer since starting at Lockheed Martin Unmanned Systems in 2006. He left LM in 2014 to found OrangeWire Systems, where he created and continues to market a line of modular hardware-in-the-loop test equipment serving the National Instruments Switched Load Signal Conditioning architecture. As a member of the National Instruments Alliance Partner Network, he has worked with many automotive customers such as Ford, Fiat-Chrysler, Continental, Magna, and India’s National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project. Since 2017, he has worked as a freelance contractor and as the electronics lead at Swift Engineering for the 021 VTOL drone program.

Besides electronics, Nick is an avid welder and metal fabricator. Outside the shop, he enjoys cruising around San Diego on his custom electric longboard, and exploring the sea floor of Southern California with his ROV. Nick graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2006 with a BSEE.
